Build Backlinks in SEO
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is basically divided into two major forms, i.e. On-Page Optimization and Off-Page Optimization. In On Page Optimization, we work on the web page and optimize the pages such that they become search engine friendly.
Once the web page becomes search engine friendly, then we move on to the other aspect of SEO which is called as Off Page Optimization. Off-page Optimization basically involves building backlinks to the website and bringing the website in-front of the people. Lets learn to build backlinks in SEO.
Links are considered as a vote of confidence from one website to another. Thereby, the more the number of links you get from authentic websites (websites that have established credibility with large user base and high traffic), the better it is for your website.
Links also help to send the traffic from one website to another thus giving the profit in terms of traffic as well. The traffic which flows from one website to another is called as a referral traffic.
Google (the most common search engine) considers the website with more number of good backlinks as more authoritative. Links are still the backbone of the Google search.
The thing to be remembered is that it is the quality of the links that matters. A website with less number of overall backlinks and more quality backlinks may rank better than the website which has less quality backlinks although they may have more number of backlinks.
Google has created an algorithm from which it can detect whether the links are authoritative or whether they are spammy. Google’s filters that analyzes the website’s link is called as Google Penguin. It refreshes from time to time to penalize the spammy websites. Whenever the updates are made, there is a drastic change in the search page.
Links should not be built for Google because they won’t be useful and in the long run they may prove to be harmful to our site. Links should be built in such a way that they are useful for the users.
Single useful link is more powerful than hundreds of spammy links. So it is the quality of the link that matters not the quantity of the links. Never ever go for spammy links, as if these spammy links are recognized by Google, Google’s Algorithm i.e. Google Penguin will penalize the website for it.
